Front End Developer
Job purpose:
Working with the creatives converting Photoshop layouts to accessible and compliant CSS/HTML. You should be a technical wizard with a keen eye for creative, able to deliver beautifully crafted and carefully coded sites.
You will have an excellent grasp of XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and JQuery as well as an in-depth knowledge of W3C valid website structures, web accessibility standards and cross browser compatibility.
Responsibilities:
- To work with both creatives and back end PHP developers to implement engaging, interactive digital communications.
- Have a keen eye for creative to design and develop digital projects from brief to completion.
- Produce, modify or maintain websites and other online solutions using a variety of technologies.
- To aid in the scoping and planning of online client projects where required.
- Maintain a high level of awareness on industry trends, particularly in regards to web standards, accessibility, usability and emerging technologies. Keep team members up to date with these trends with a view to incorporating them into future projects.
What you need to have:
- A minimum of 4 years digital experience
- Competent in creating valid HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and appropriate editing tools
- Developing cross-platform and cross-browser online solutions
- Strong understanding of web accessibility to develop work that conforms to accessibility guidelines
- A basic understanding of PHP and MySQL
- Knowledge of HTML email best practice desirable
